After traveling back in time to the late 1800s and witnessing, in 1932, the birth of a new company—Bourjois S.A.—the “heir” to the original DUGSON, a new and lengthy chapter now brings us to the present day.
Dedicated to the production of the brands in the Bourjois portfolio (Bourjois, Chanel, and Barbara Gould), Bourjois S.A., led by Alessandro Giorgi alongside his sons Arturo and Alberto and his son-in-law Gildo Catelli, soon becomes Profumerie di Lusso, continuing its successful journey for many years.

The French parent company moves production back to France but entrusts the distribution of its brands to Piersandro Catelli, Gildo’s son. The goal is to relaunch and reorganize distribution throughout Italy and ensure Chanel attains the right positioning among the most prestigious brands. Despite the challenging years on the horizon for Italy, Beautimport remains committed. In fact, during the darkest period, the company builds its national sales network and begins importing luxury fragrances and cosmetics from France. Thanks to its growing experience, Beautimport takes on a leading role and, in 1990, begins a new chapter in its history, becoming the distributor of some of the most prestigious brands such as Rochas, Patou, Lacoste, Tiffany, and Glycel.

In 1996, it reaches a new milestone: the international license for the Italian brand Terme di Saturnia, which earns unanimous praise abroad, including in North America, Japan, Russia, and the Middle East. This bold challenge does not remain the only one for long.

In 2012, it secures the exclusive distribution rights in Italy for Decorté, a prestigious Japanese cosmetics brand produced by Kosé Corporation. Experience, technical and commercial expertise, and reliability convinced the Japanese company that Beautimport was the ideal partner.

Alongside Decorté, the Bologna-based company proudly features a jewel of perfumery: the historic French Maison Lubin Paris. The years go by, and today Beautimport—celebrating its 50th anniversary last year—is a leading force in the beauty industry. It keeps pace with the times while honoring its heritage, with professionalism, product and service quality, and a vision that combines innovation and ethics as its guiding principles.

Since 1798, the year it was founded, Maison Lubin has written the history of perfumery. By the end of the 1960s, it enjoyed international fame and success. However, the decision by Paul and André Prot, the fourth generation of the family, to sell it to a large industrial group marked a difficult period for the brand, despite the efforts of courageous managers to restore its former glory.

In 2004, however, the unthinkable happened. Gilles Thévenin, former Creative Director of Guerlain, aware of the Maison’s centuries-old heritage, expertise, and tradition, decided to take its future into his own hands and restore it to the pinnacle of perfumery. To do so, he enlisted the help of Paul Prot's two sons, who rejoined the business to revive the unique olfactory style that had always defined Lubin.

From being a large international company at the beginning of the 20th century, Lubin was reborn as a more exclusive entity, becoming a luxurious and sought-after Maison that embodies the ideals of its founder.

Today, it is the second oldest independent French fragrance house still in operation, and its fragrances, reinterpreted by some of the world’s most famous perfumers while respecting the original spirit, captivate both men and women around the world. And they will continue to do so for many generations to come.
